Title: “The Mask”

Meaning of the Symbol:
This symbol represents what is happening to our beloved earth. It tell about our place to living and other habitats are polluted each day because of the unawareness of mankind; scarring our mother nature without thinking the consequences in future.

Shapes Meanings:
1. Mask
The mask tells us about how we are covering our earth by destroying our own home, earth by using a mask as a masquerade.

2. Bird Silhouettes
This represents the habitat of animals which are near to extinction, trying to find a new place to live.

3. Fire
Shows us how irresponsible human being is by polluting our mother nature from smokes produced by factories, CFC and CO emissions.

4. Tree
The dead tree shows how chronic our mother nature has become caused by pollution and deforestation.

Color Meanings:

1. The sunset color means our place is becoming gloomy, darker, land turning barren and dead caused by our own foolishness.
2. Black color of the bird silhouettes shows the extinction of animals and their habitats.
3. Colors of the fire shows how bad is the pollution caused by human.

...after receiving critiques and comments, let's do some touch-up and finalize it...

...to crop and throw the outside parts, first make a new layer and create a face exactly the same as the mask and put it on top...

...then highlight the parts that needs trimming and select the layer face too...

...open pathfinders and click the crop button...tadaa~!! it's nice and now...then adjust some of the coloring, gradient, transparencies for the mask to finalize it...

...there u go...the final product of mine...

...for this part, let's color this up...

...for the mask, gradient it using 'gradient' tool on the right side and pick the color...set the color appropriately...for this i choose to have 'sunset' environment...

...for the fire part, highlight the flames and using bucket tool, paint it red and the insides with yellow...

...continue with trees, hills and birds...for the hill i used gradient tool too...

...same as before, take a reference pic and place it on the drawing board..

...start 'pencil'-ing it...

...when it's done...u get urself a tree...well, sort of...

...and arrange them inside...

...now lets do the fire...

...first create a new layer and place the picture reference on side of the drawing area...

...zoom it and start drawing using pen

...when done, group the whole fire as smoke1...

...there u go...

...if its hard to draw curves, you can make 2 curved lines and join them together...just highlight the points that you want and join them...

...when everything is completed, resize them all and bring to the drawing area, and rename the layer as 'fire'...

...now, im gonna do the birds silhouettes...

...first place a picture of a crane silhouette from a website and zoom it to make it larger...

...after using pen tool, trace the crane and when its done, hide the original picture by clicking the 'eye' at the layer part...

...bring it to the mask area, resize the crane and rotate it accordingly...copy and resize other cranes by left click+ alt drag...

...arrange them properly and its done...for now...

...now, the 1st phase of drawing 'em...comments are welcome...

...1st, put up the mask on illustrator...this will be my 'stencil'...

...use the elipse and make it as close as possible as the mask...and name it as 'face'...

...to make the eyes, use the eclipse shape and adjust it...

...hide the mask pic and u get the base face for it...

...to make a pair of eyes, right-click > transform > reflect > vertically > copy...

...there u go...another one...

...group it together and name it 'eyes'...

...that's all for the 1st phase...the base face...nxt phase?...the insides...
