...S02E02 - (redo) the glowing jeans...

...for this tutorial i will change the color of some part frm the image...for this image, first of all change the hue and saturation to make it look like it is getting dark...

...next, using pen tool, i make a path around the jeans and save it as a new channel...

...nxt, using hue and saturation, i changed the color of the jeans to a more brighter and striking color...
...lastly give it an outer glow by clicking "adding a layer style"...adjust some parameters so it looks like glowing...

...done...the glowing jeans...wish i have one.. -_-"

...S02 assignment1 part 3...

...after few adjustments made...such as the arrangements, opacity, filters, and colors...finally its done...

here's the final postcard for this assignment...comments are welcome~...

...S02 assignment1 part 2...

...now for the flower part...
...1st take an image of a hibiscus, crop it, and begin tracing using pen tool...select and drag to a new clipboard (transparent/white will do)...then...using lasso tool, select > select inverse the hibiscus and drag to the main clipboard...

...free transform the flower...as u place it on the choc...it will hv extra unneeded parts that is need to be cut off...to do this just use pen tool...trace the extra parts that is not needed and erase it...then, to get the same color as the background chocolate, just create a new adjustment layer > hue saturation and adjust it from there...

...now for the design for the wrapper...i took an image from the web...trace it using pentool...convert it into channels and adjust the color...then i select the paths, drag in on a new empty clipboard...this design is cropped different parts to get different designs that will be used for the wrapper...

...after adjusting the designs by using free transform tool and arrange them, i changed the opacity to 50% to make it blend with the background wrapper...i hid the models that are arranged to make this job easier...

...lastly the logo which will make the tagline "Malaysia, truly Asia"...luckily i found a large .gif logo of visit malaysia, i select it using lasso tool and invert selection it; drag it in the main clipboard...then put the continuing "truly Asia" using custom font and adjust so it looks the same as the logo...

...S02 assignment1 part 1...

...as i've mentioned b4, my postcard is about a Malaysian-made chocolate...rite nw i'll show how its done...

...for the chocolate bar, i took the image from google...as u can see, the wrapper and the front part (choc) needs to be edited...this is a work for mr. brush tool with his sidekick, mr. eyedrop tool...

...for the choc part, just pick the same color using eyedropper tool, and using brush (different sizes depends on area) color it...as for the wrapper part, i select the part that needs to be paint using selection tool, and use a creamy yellow as the base of the wrapper...for the highlights, i simple use a brighter color and a brush (with hardness 0%)...same goes for the light shadows...

...as for the beautiful model, select them using pen tool, select and drag to the clipboard...

...same goes for the other three beautiful models here...

...after arranging them all together, i add outer glow and adjust them to my liking by clicking "add layer style"...

Project Charter Assignment 1

Assignment 1 Title: Printout Postcard for the theme “Malaysia, Truly Asia”.

Project Start Date: 23 November, 2008

Project Finish Date: 28 November, 2008.

Project Manager: Mohd Arief Sofian b. Mohammed Yusof

HP: +6013 850 3860

Email: arief.sofian@gmail.com

Website: http://mcg1016-1021126989.blogspot.com

Project Objective: Students are to create a multi-cultural event for a post card. The theme would be “Malaysia, Truly Asia” which is the official slogan for Malaysia Tourism. Students are to show the multi-cultural aspects of Malaysia culture or life as a positive feature to attract tourist into this country.
Approach:
Postcards are meant to be a memento for tourists who visited Malaysia. My approach in making this postcard is catchy, has deep meanings and also fun. Therefore, my idea is about a Malaysian made chocolate that shows various races in Malaysia on its wrapper. I choose chocolate as my main image since chocolate represents sweetness that makes everyone smile. The idea of Malaysian made chocolate came up after watching a movie (Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory).
Images that are used in making this postcard are chocolate bar, pictures of four main races in Malaysia, a logo of Malaysian Tourism and hibiscus.
In making the postcard, the images that I have taken (credits to flickr.com) are edited; mainly using selection tools. They are used in highlighting and making paths for the woman images and the hibiscus. Some brush tools are used in coloring the wrapper and the chocolate bar. Filtering technique is also used and I used fill and adjustment layers to create shadow, bevel and emboss.

Roles and Responsibilities:

Phase 1: Ideas for the postcard is sketched. Images are searched through the internet
Phase 2: Each images that are found are edited, cropped and arranged in the clipboard
Phase 3: Consultation with lecturer (client). Discuss on changes that need to be done
Phase 4: Edit and final adjustments are done.
Phase 5: Final submission and print-out.

Comment:
For me, doing this assignments really test my creativity in making a postcard that is not only eye-catching, but fun. Doing this is indeed fun for me as Photoshop can create and edit lots of images with ease.
Even so, in doing this postcard there are some mishaps and problems faced during the completion of this assignment. Mainly pictures and images are very hard to find. High resolution images can only found in flickr.com, picasaweb.google.com and some photo hosting sites. This limits my range of search. Editing, arranging and modifying the images is also the problem faced as I proceed through. Applying filters, stylizing the image is problematic in order to achieve a realistic final result. Lastly, the most common problem that faced during this assignment is “creativity-block” where at some time I do not have any idea and my work is stalled.

...S02E01 - star(fish) falling...

...this is the 1st tutorial for cg2...i just followed the videos and give some adjustments...its a step-by-step video and quite easy to do...

...first, the background...i use the elipse marque tool and blur the center of it...

...after that, the falling starfishes...i adjust the size and placements of them to give an impression of the starfishes falling down from the sky...each of the starfish has different values of gaussian blur...

...then comes in the large tv/lcd...distorted it using free transform...and place it in front of the building...i make the tv/lcd a bit blur since the focus is at the starfish...

...give the tv some shades to make it real...adjust the environment by giving it a bit of blur...to suit the centre blur which have been done 1st...

...the final view of my 1st tutorial...comments are appreciated...
